Press Release: ‘Live in South Norwood & Woodside Campaign’
By Adrian Sladdin [Founder]
‘Live in South Norwood and Woodside’ is a campaign to improve the reputation of the area by encouraging people to take advantage of the very affordable housing and benefit from some of the excellent local amenities. It’s hoped that new residents will come from other parts of London when they see the benefits of living in SE25.
The area is recognised by many estate agents as a property hotspot and, with its excellent travel links, it’s possibly one of the last places in Greater London where a four bedroom house with substantial garden is available and affordable.
The campaign is also devised to encourage new shops to open on both the High Street and on Portland Road; both of these suffered during the recent economic troubles but now there are signs of regeneration. There’s also an attempt to get people to recognise al the positive aspects of living in the area, particularly the parks and green spaces, as well as the close proximity to the countryside.
With a commute to London Bridge taking only eleven minutes and the recent arrival of the London Overground helping the journey to Docklands, this is a good chance to take advantage before house prices do everywhere else in London. Croydon is also regenerating at speed and luxury flats are being built along with the arrival of a Westfield Shopping Centre.. The Croydon tram link is also very helpful for getting to Beckenham and Wimbledon.
Overall this campaign is a natural extension of the beautification of London; it would be great to see South Norwood and Woodside back to their attractive best as a result of this campaign.
